About Us

We are a group of amateur radio enthusiasts who have decided to form an Association around a very exciting hobby.  Many of our members are also part of the South Santa Rosa Community Emergency Response Team, also known as Navarre CERT.  However, we welcome ANYONE who wishes to join us!  You do not even have to have an Amateur Radio license.  BUT...if you are interested, we will help you get licensed so you can join in the fun!

In addition to those of us who support South Santa Rosa county CERT, our Association participates in several events throughout the year such as the North American QSO Party, Field Day, and the Florida QSO Party to name a few.  We also occasionally have a local "mini-expedition" from time to time to just enjoy amateur radio and some friendly chats!

Of course, many are also active on the various local repeaters and the radio nets that are held on them.
Our meetings are the first Friday of every month, normally at the Holley-Navarre Fire District station #45 Training Building located at 8618 Esplanade St E, Navarre, FL 32566 (please park across the street behind McDonald's rather than in the fire station parking area, which may block access for the fire trucks). HOWEVER, some months the meeting is at an alternate location so please check the home page of this website or our Facebook page for current meetin information. Start time is 1800 hours and last approximately one hour.  If you have a ham radio, talk-in is on the CERT repeater 444.200 MHz, positive offset with a 100 Hz tone.

During our meetings we often have short, easy-to-understand presentations on one of the many modes that make up the amateur radio hobby.  These presentations expose the newly licensed ham to try something new and show the grizzled veterans that there are a lot of other options out there than just watching tubes glow!
